The group of companies Intercomp is the first outsourcing service provider in Russia to have passed the audit of conformity to a new international standard for operational controls, i.e. SSAE18 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18) which has replaced SSAE16 since June 2017. SSAE18 type II audit report supports the relevance of the company’s operational controls: consistency of the organization’s actual activity with that described in the internal control system and effectiveness of these controls.
Intercomp was audited for 3.5 months in its main regions of presence, including Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. During that time, the auditors checked and assessed all reported general administrative and operational controls of the company, including information security controls, control “within” the processes of direct provision of services, and others.
“Audit methods are being improved every year in order to meet the requirements and needs of the international business community. The “volume” of audit requests and “depth” of audit increased in 2017, while the procedure for acceptance of evidence supporting fulfilment of general and operational controls was tightened” comments Andrey Kozlov, Director of Organization Development and Quality.
The group of companies Intercomp will audit its system of internal operational controls under SSAE standard every year, starting from 2010. Conducting an independent external audit is a prerequisite for working with foreign clients. The availability of audit reports and certificates issued by world-leading audit companies and certification bodies is increasingly becoming an important criterion for choosing a service provider even for Russian companies. Indeed, confirmation that the system of internal operational controls in place conforms to the requirements of international standards is an important stage in the building of trust between a company and its clients.
